Our Commitment to Educators
We show up as allies, for you and the family. Our work is not about evaluation or critique; it’s about connection, communication, and co-regulation. Together, we ensure every student feels seen, supported, and safe enough to learn.
For Schools
Every classroom can become a place where all students belong.
The Authentic Educator partners with schools to strengthen inclusion from the inside out through professional learning, collaborative coaching, and honest reflection on how systems, environments, and expectations shape student access and belonging.
Our work focuses especially on supporting educators working with students navigating ADHD, autism, PDA profiles (Pervasive Drive for Autonomy / Persistent Demand Avoidance), ARFID, school burnout, and complex regulation needs.
The Third Space
We work in the space between home and school.
By supporting families outside the system while also partnering with educators inside it, we help everyone understand what a student is experiencing and why traditional approaches may not be working.
This dual perspective allows us to identify what is already helping, clarify what is getting in the way, and co-create solutions that are realistic, compassionate, and sustainable.
Collaborative Coaching
We partner with educators and teams to design regulation-supportive, trauma-informed environments that reduce barriers to learning.
This may include:
• understanding PDA profiles and autonomy-driven nervous systems
• supporting students experiencing school burnout or refusal
• addressing eating challenges related to ARFID in school environments
• rethinking behavior systems that escalate demand-driven students
• building classroom practices that prioritize regulation and connection
Our work is relational and reflective, grounded in the belief that connection, not compliance, changes outcomes.
Student-Centered Consultation
When a student struggles to access school, we help teams develop practical, compassionate supports that bring families and educators together around shared goals.
We help teams explore:
• what the student is communicating through behavior
• how demands, environments, and expectations affect regulation
• how to support autonomy while maintaining access to learning
In many situations we act as a neutral bridge, creating space for understanding and collaboration that centers student dignity.
Our Approach
We center dignity, belonging, and evidence-based practice in every partnership.
We believe most educators want to help students succeed but are often navigating systems that make that difficult. Our role is to clarify what students are communicating, coach educators and families through practical strategies, and collaborate on solutions until understanding grows and sustainable change becomes possible.
School partnerships are intentionally priced to remain accessible. Our standard rate for working with schools aligns with local certificated substitute teacher pay, allowing districts and teams to access support without the cost of traditional consulting.
